Description

🍑 Peach Cobbler Classic Southern Dessert Made Simple offers a sweet, comforting taste of Southern tradition with juicy peaches and a tender, golden batter.
🔥 This easy-to-make dessert is perfect for sharing during any occasion and pairs beautifully with ice cream or whipped cream.

Ingredients

Scale

5 peaches, cored and sliced (about 4 cups)

1 quart jar canned peaches, undrained

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

6 tablespoons butter

1 cup flour

1 cup sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup milk

Cinnamon for sprinkling

Instructions

1-First, if you’re using fresh peaches, combine the sliced peaches with 3/4 cup sugar and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and juices release this step really brings out the sweetness! If you have canned peaches, you can skip this and go straight to the next part.

2-Next, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and melt the 6 tablespoons of butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish by placing it in the oven. While that’s happening, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a bowl, then stir in 3/4 cup milk until just combined. Pour this batter over the melted butter in the dish.

3-Assembling and Baking: Spoon the peach filling evenly over the batter, then sprinkle cinnamon on top for that extra zest. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 38-40 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.

4-Once it’s done, let it cool a bit before serving warm, maybe with ice cream oh, what a treat! This guide, based on tried-and-true directions, makes the process enjoyable and stress-free. With prep at 15 minutes and cooking at 40 minutes, you’re looking at a total of 55 minutes to dessert heaven.

Notes

🍑 For easy peeling of fresh peaches, blanch them in boiling water for 30 seconds then transfer to ice water.
🍯 Adjust sugar in filling and batter to taste for preferred sweetness.
❄️ Leftovers keep well refrigerated for 4-5 days or can be frozen for up to 3 months; reheat in oven to restore texture.
