  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

β›„ Create joyful memories with these adorable Melting Snowman Cookies that are fun to make and even better to eat during the holiday season.
πŸͺ Delight in a creative and delicious activity perfect for all ages, transforming simple ingredients into festive snowy treats.

Ingredients

Scale

12 sugar cookies (homemade or refrigerated dough)
2 cups royal icing (divided and thinned for different consistencies)
6 large marshmallows, halved
Long orange sprinkles (for noses)
12–48 mini M&Ms (depending on use for buttons)
Black gel food coloring or edible black decorating gel

Instructions

1. Prepare or bake 12 sugar cookies according to your recipe or package instructions; allow to cool completely.
2. Color half a cup of royal icing black and thin it to a 15-second consistency for piping details.
3. Thin the remaining white royal icing to about a 10-second consistency, ideal for dripping and flooding the cookies.
4. Frost each cookie generously with the white icing, letting it drip over the edges to create a β€œmelted” snow effect.
5. While the white icing is still wet, place a halved marshmallow near the back of each cookie to serve as the snowman’s head. Press mini M&Ms onto the icing as buttons.
6. Use the black icing in a piping bag to draw stick arms extending away from the marshmallow, giving a β€œmelting” impression.
7. Allow the cookies to set for 20–30 minutes or until the icing hardens.
8. Once set, add facial features on the marshmallow using black icing or edible markers: two eyes, a surprised β€œO” mouth, and attach an orange sprinkle for the carrot nose, using leftover white icing as glue.

Notes

πŸŽ„ Use pre-made slice-and-bake cookies and store-bought royal icing for a quick, kid-friendly version.
🍭 Thin royal icing carefully to achieve the right consistency for dripping and piping.
🚫 Let cookies cool fully before icing to prevent melting and ensure smooth application.
