Ingredients
– 500g / 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast (2 pieces)
– Salt and pepper
– 1/4 cup flour (or cornflour/cornstarch for gluten-free)
– 3 1/2 tbsp (50g) unsalted butter or 2 1/2 tbsp olive oil
– 2 garlic cloves, minced
– 1 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or white/clear vinegar)
– 1 tbsp light or all-purpose soy sauce
– 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
Instructions
1-First, cut the chicken breasts horizontally to make 4 thin pieces and season them with salt and pepper for that perfect flavor base.
2-Next, coat the chicken pieces in flour, shaking off any excess to get that crispy edge.
3-Heat most of the butter (or oil) in a large skillet over high heat, saving about 1 tsp of butter for later this keeps things simple and delicious!
4-Sear the chicken for 2-3 minutes until itβs golden on one side, then flip and cook the other side for 1 minute.
5-Reduce the heat to medium-high, move the chicken aside, and add the reserved butter plus minced garlic; stir until the garlic is fragrant.
6-Pour in the vinegar, soy sauce, and honey, stirring to combine, then bring it to a simmer for about 1 minute until the sauce thickens slightly.
7-Turn the chicken to coat it in the sauce, and if it gets too thick, just add a bit of water and stir easy peasy!
