– 1/4 cup water
– 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1-Prepare your pears: Wash, peel, core, and chop 8 to 10 Bartlett pears into 1-inch pieces. This sets the base for your sauce.
2-Mix in a saucepan: Add the chopped pears, 1/4 cup water, 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
3-Boil and simmer: Heat on high until it boils, then reduce to medium-low and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4-Blend or mash: Use an immersion blender for smooth pearsauce, or a masher for a chunkier version. Cool first if using a regular blender.
5-Store and serve: Pour into containers and chill in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.
