Ingredients
Tortellini (cheese-filled, refrigerated)
Chicken (chicken breast or pre-sliced chicken strips)
Broccoli (fresh broccoli florets)
Olive oil
Garlic (fresh cloves)
Chicken broth
Milk
Cream cheese
Heavy cream (optional)
Salt
Pepper
Parmesan cheese (grated)
Instructions
1. Start by heating olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken breast or strips to the skillet.
2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper to taste. Cook until no longer pink, approximately 5 to 7 minutes, then set the chicken aside.
3. In the same skillet, add more olive oil if needed and sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
4. Add fresh broccoli florets to the skillet and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes until they are tender-crisp and a vibrant green color.
5. Pour chicken broth into the skillet with the broccoli and garlic. Bring the broth to a simmer.
6. Add refrigerated cheese tortellini to the simmering broth and cook for approximately 5 minutes, or until the tortellini floats to the top.
7. Reduce the heat to low and stir in milk and cream cheese. Mix until the cream cheese is fully melted and the sauce comes together smoothly.
8. For added creaminess, optionally pour in a splash of heavy cream and stir well.
9. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese into the sauce and stir until it melts and creates a creamy, cheesy consistency.
10. Return the cooked chicken back to the skillet. Mix it with the tortellini, broccoli, and sauce, allowing everything to heat through for about 3 to 4 minutes.
11. Taste the dish and adjust seasonings with additional salt and pepper if necessary.
12. Serve the Garlic Parmesan Tortellini with Chicken and Broccoli warm, optionally garnished with extra Parmesan cheese or fresh herbs for added flavor.
Notes
1. Add a spicy kick with red pepper flakes or mix up the cheese options like mozzarella or Gruyère for a unique flavor twist.
2. Substitute with shrimp or bacon for alternative proteins, or include extra veggies like mushrooms or sundried tomatoes for added texture and color.
3. Use frozen broccoli for convenience or turn it into a one-pot dish by layering ingredients in a Dutch oven for easier cleanup.
