Description

🍪 These Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars offer a quick and easy way to enjoy perfectly chewy treats with minimal cleanup.
🥄 Made in one pan, they combine gooey centers and crisp edges for a delightful texture in every bite.

Ingredients

– 3 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/4 teaspoon table salt

– 1 cup butter, melted and cooled slightly

– 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar

– 3/4 cup white sugar

– 2 large eggs

– 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

– 2 cups chocolate chips of any kind or mixed

– 1/2 cup toffee bits (optional)

– 3 cups gluten-free flour blend

– 2 flax eggs for vegan

– 1 cup plant-based butter

Instructions

1-First, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with foil, then lightly spray it with cooking spray. This step helps the bars bake evenly and makes cleanup a breeze, just like in our favorite family recipes.

2-Next, in a bowl, whisk together the 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/4 teaspoon table salt. This dry mix forms the foundation of your bars, ensuring they hold together nicely.

3-Then, in a mixing bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar, 3/4 cup white sugar, and 1 cup melted butter that’s cooled slightly. Add the 2 large eggs one at a time, stirring after each, and mix in 1 tablespoon vanilla extract for that extra flavor boost.

4-Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until fully incorporated, then fold in 2 cups chocolate chips. If you’re feeling fancy, save some chips to sprinkle on top.

5-Press the dough evenly into your prepared pan and bake for about 25 minutes, checking from 20 minutes onward. Look for golden brown edges and a set center that’s still soft it’s all about getting that perfect chewy texture.

6-Finally, let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares. They’ll taste even better chilled, and this step keeps them from being too gooey. For more baking inspiration, try our apple crisp recipe for another easy treat.

Notes

🧈 Use real salted butter for best flavor and texture.
🍫 Semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips are recommended to avoid overly sweet bars.
❄️ Allow bars to cool completely before cutting; freezing bars extends shelf life and maintains texture.
