Ingredients

Scale

Salted butter 1 stick (8 Tbsp)

All-purpose flour 1 c (≈ 120 g)

Light or dark brown sugar 1 c (≈ 220 g)

Baking powder 2 tsp

Ground cinnamon ½ tsp

Kosher salt ½ tsp

Milk 1 c (≈ 240 ml)

Vanilla extract 1 Tbsp

Fresh ripe peaches 5-6 medium, cut into wedges (about 4-5 c)

Maple syrup 2 Tbsp (for tossing peaches) + ¼ c (≈ 60 ml) for maple butter

Additional butter for maple butter 4 Tbsp (≈ 57 g)

Instructions

1-Ready to whip up this Brown Sugar Peach Cobbler? Let’s walk through it step by step it’s easier than you think and yields a warm, golden treat that’ll make your mouth water. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and melting that stick of butter in your baking dish for about 10 minutes; this sets the stage for a buttery base.

2-In a bowl, mix the flour, ¾ cup of brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt, then stir in the milk and vanilla until just blended for a smooth batter. For the peaches, toss your wedges with the remaining ¼ cup brown sugar and 2 Tbsp maple syrup to amp up their natural sweetness. Spread half of those sugared peaches over the melted butter, pour the batter on top without stirring, and add the rest of the peaches.

3-Bake it for 50-55 minutes until the center sets and the edges turn golden-brown your kitchen will smell amazing! If you’re using frozen peaches, remember to thaw them first to avoid extra moisture. Once it’s done, let it cool a bit and serve warm, maybe with ice cream and a drizzle of that optional maple butter made by simmering extra butter and maple syrup.

Notes

🍁 Toss the peaches with maple syrup and brown sugar before assembling for extra caramelization.
⏲️ For an even crust, rotate the baking dish halfway through the baking time.
❄️ The cobbler can be assembled a day ahead, refrigerated, then baked from chilled, adding a few extra minutes if needed.
