Ingredients

Ground beef
Pork sausage
Pepperoni
Ham
Pasta (bow tie, spaghetti, or other shapes)
Marinara or tomato basil pasta sauce
Mozzarella cheese
Parmesan cheese
Italian seasoning
Garlic
Oregano

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F or 425°F if aiming for a crispy top layer.
2. Cook the pasta to al dente in a large pot of salted boiling water, then drain and set aside.
3. Brown the ground beef and pork sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, then drain any excess fat.
4. Add marinara or tomato basil sauce to the skillet with the cooked meats, followed by Italian seasoning, garlic, and oregano. Let simmer for a few minutes to blend the flavors.
5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce, ensuring every piece is well coated.
6. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
7. Add a thin layer of sauce to the bottom of the dish as the first layer.
8. Add half of the pasta mixture into the dish as the second layer.
9. Layer pepperoni and ham over the pasta mixture as the third layer.
10. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese generously over the meats as the fourth layer.
11. Repeat the layering process (pasta, meats, sauce, and cheese) until all ingredients are used, making the final layer a topping of cheese and optional extra pepperoni.
12. Bake the assembled casserole in the preheated oven for 40 minutes at 375°F.
13. If using a crust topping, place dough over the casserole after 20 minutes of baking and increase the oven temperature to 425°F, baking for an additional 20-25 minutes.
14. Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to cool for 10 minutes to settle the layers.
15. Serve warm, slicing into portions and pairing with a fresh salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.

Notes

1. Customize with your favorite toppings, from extra veggies to swapping meats for a unique flavor twist.
2. Make it ahead for busy nights or freeze portions for an easy, satisfying meal later.
3. Experiment with different cheeses like provolone or gouda for added depth and richness.
