Ingredients

Scale

All-purpose flour
Milk
Rum (optional)
Egg
Granulated sugar
2 large apples
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. Peel the apples and slice them into thin rings.
2. Remove the core from each apple ring using a small round cookie cutter.
3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, milk, rum (optional), egg, and sugar to create a smooth batter.
4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan or deep fryer over medium heat.
5. Dip each apple ring into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
6. Carefully place the battered apple rings into the hot oil.
7. Fry the rings until golden brown on both sides, flipping as needed.
8. Remove the fried apple rings from the oil and drain them on paper towels.
9. While still warm, coat the apple rings in cinnamon sugar.
10. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
11. Optionally, top with powdered sugar, caramel sauce, or vanilla ice cream.
12. Reheat any leftovers in an air fryer or microwave before serving.

Notes

Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith to keep a good texture after frying.

Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to prevent soggy batter; around 350Β°F (175Β°C) is ideal.

Coat the fried apple rings in cinnamon sugar while they are still warm for the best flavor.
