Fried Calamari: Crispy and Crunchy

Description

🍤 Crispy, golden, and irresistibly tender—this fried calamari is the ultimate appetizer you can make right at home! 🍋🔥

🍽️ Perfectly seasoned and paired with your favorite dipping sauces, it’s a crunchy seafood delight you don’t want to miss! 🤤👌

Ingredients

Calamari (squid rings and tentacles)
Flour
Salt
Black pepper
Paprika
Oregano
Garlic powder
Buttermilk or milk
Oil for frying
Lemon wedges (optional)
Marinara sauce or aioli (optional)

Instructions

1. Clean and slice the calamari into rings and separate the tentacles.
2. Soak the calamari in buttermilk or milk for about 30 minutes to tenderize.
3. In a bowl, mix flour with salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, and garlic powder.
4. Remove the calamari from the milk and pat dry with paper towels.
5. Dredge the calamari pieces in the seasoned flour, shaking off excess coating.
6. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pan to 350-375°F.
7. Fry the calamari in batches for 2-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
8. Use a slotted spoon to remove the calamari and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
9. Serve immediately while hot with lemon wedges and dipping sauces like marinara or aioli.
10. Enjoy your crispy homemade fried calamari as a delicious appetizer.

Notes

Pat the calamari completely dry before coating to help the flour stick better and create a crispier texture.

Keep the oil temperature between 350-375°F to prevent the calamari from becoming greasy or too chewy.

Fry in small batches to avoid overcrowding the pan, ensuring even cooking and a golden, crispy result.
