Description

🍩 Enjoy the delightful combination of cinnamon rolls and donuts in one easy-to-make treat.
πŸ”₯ Quick and simple, these donuts are perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

Ingredients

Scale

1 can (about 12.4 ounces) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough, icing reserved
Canola or vegetable oil for frying, about 6 cups
Optional toppings: powdered sugar glaze or dusting

Instructions

1. Remove the cinnamon roll dough from the can and place on a cutting board.
2. Use a small round cookie cutter to cut out the centers and create donut shapes. Save the centers for donut holes.
3. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan until it reaches 350–360Β°F.
4. Fry donuts and holes in batches, 4–5 minutes per side for donuts, 1–2 minutes for holes, until golden brown.
5. Remove to a wire rack or paper towels to drain.
6. Heat reserved icing until pourable or make a glaze. Dip or drizzle over cooled donuts.

Notes

🌑️ Make sure the oil temperature is 350–360Β°F for perfectly fried donuts.
πŸ”ͺ Cut centers while dough is cold to prevent separation.
🎯 Baking is possible, but frying gives the classic texture.
