Carrots, julienned (optional)
Bell peppers, sliced (optional)
Onion, sliced (optional)
Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Vegetable oil (for stir-frying)
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, sesame oil, and rice wine vinegar to create the marinade.
3. Add the beef to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb flavors.
4. Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
5. While the beef is marinating, chop the broccoli into bite-sized florets and prepare additional vegetables like carrots, bell peppers, or onions if using.
6. Heat a large pan or wok over high heat with a bit of oil.
7. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned, then remove from the pan and set aside.
8. In the same pan, add more oil if needed and stir-fry the broccoli and other vegetables for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
9. Push the vegetables to the side and add minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
10. Return the beef to the pan and toss everything together.
11. Add the cooked noodles to the pan and pour in the remaining sauce gradually, tossing to evenly coat.
12. Stir-fry everything for another 1-2 minutes to blend flavors and ensure even heating.
13. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary by adding more soy sauce or a touch of honey for balance.
14. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
15. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade Beef and Broccoli Lo Mein!
16. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days for meal prep.
Notes
Marinate the beef for at least 30 minutes to make it tender and flavorful.
Prepare all ingredients in advance since the cooking process is quick and requires high heat.
Cook the noodles al dente so they don’t become too soft when stir-fried with the sauce.
